Facial Neuromodulators: Aftercare

Maintain the Brightness.

  1. Avoid touching the treated areas: To prevent the spread of the toxin to unintended areas, avoid touching or rubbing the treated areas for at least 24 hours after the procedure.

  2. Stay upright and avoid strenuous activities: For the first few hours after the injections, it's recommended to remain upright and avoid activities that may increase blood flow to the face, such as vigorous exercise, bending over, or lying down flat.

  3. Avoid heat exposure: Refrain from exposure to excessive heat or extreme cold, such as saunas, hot tubs, or freezing temperatures, for the first few days after treatment. These conditions can potentially dilate blood vessels and impact the distribution of Botox.

  4. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications: Alcohol and certain medications, such as aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or blood-thinning medications, should be avoided for a few days after the procedure to minimize bruising and swelling.

  5. Be cautious with skincare products: It's generally safe to resume your regular skincare routine after Botox injections, but avoid using any harsh or abrasive products for the first 24 hours. Consult with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns about specific products.

  6. Wait before lying down: Try to avoid lying down for at least four hours after treatment. This precaution helps prevent the unintended spread of the toxin.

  7. Be patient: The full effects of Botox injections may take a few days to a week to become noticeable. Avoid evaluating the results immediately after the treatment. If you have concerns about the outcome, discuss them with your healthcare provider during your follow-up appointment.

  8. Attend follow-up appointments: Follow-up appointments are essential to assess the results and address any questions or concerns you may have. Adhere to the recommended schedule provided by your healthcare provider.
